Mani Monday:: May Flowers
Happy Monday y'all! I think it's time for a joke to start your week off right.. :)
What did the stamp say to the envelope?!
Stick with me and we'll go places… Hahahha
Even though I did a small version of florals last week, I was requested to do a different style and more florals, so here yall go! I just love the florals look, especially with it being Springtime! It just goes so well with everything! (sorry for the picture quality this time around, forgot to charge the camera!)
Check back later this weekend for a recipe and an OOTD recap!

Mani Monday:: Springtime Florals
Happy Monday everyone! Beautiful, beautiful day! How could you not be happy and smiling at everyone?!
Well today's Mani Monday is a fun, flirty, girly, and festive one, filled with little roses and pinks! Learn how to make this floral design yourself by following the steps below!
First start off by painting your base colors.
Then with the lightest shade, like a light pink, make random polka dots. They do NOT need to be perfect!
Then take a toothpick or thin brush and with your darker shade, make random lines around the dots, like shown before.
Lastly, get a green polis and add random lines/dots around your roses to create the leaves!
And the final step!

OOTD:: Sunday Afternoons at the Wineries
Now the Spring weather is here! (well, slowly but surely) we want to take advantage of these beautiful days by spending all our time outside! What other way to spend your Sunday than a trip over to a winery, or three!
Remember my last post about "Winery Hopping" (to check it out click here!) My friends and I like to head over to Virginia and make a fun-filled day over it, checking out different wineries each time and bringing along food and making a picnic as well! Well this time, we chose Casanel Vineyards, Bogati Bodega and Vineyards, and finished off with Village Winery. I love winery hopping because not only do you get to explore more wines and more vineyards, you can get with your friends, do a potluck style, and be snacking on food all day, soaking in the sun, playing frisbee or cards, laying on the grass, and taking advantage of the full day!
With a quick overview of each place, we started off with Casanel first. Loved it! Love the ambiance, the wines, and how they told the history of how they started and how it is a family-owned business. After our wine, we ate our first meal here, soaking in the spring sun. After an hour or two of munching and talking, we finally left and headed over to Bogati Bodega. This place was my second favorite, but not somewhere I would probably go again. They staff and interior was nice, I just wasn't feeling the wines here. BUT the nice part was, you could bring in some chocolate and have a chocolate/wine tasting, um, HELLO! Right after our tasting, we headed over to our final destination over at this cute little cabin called Village Winery. This place was very unique in that they had box wines, yes, you read right, box wines! None of that Franzia college wine, actual wine made and assembled into a box! What a neat concept! Sadly, the wine here and I didn't match flavors. The man behind it all was extremely sweet, and we actually spent most of our time here outside relaxing and eating again, but wine wise, not my cup of tea.
Onto the outfit of the day! It was slightly chilly in the morning and evening, the blankets helped. But the afternoon was perfect and so warm! I opted for some fun, printed shorts, a white blouse, paired with sandals for all the walking and a cardigan in case I was chilly (remember, layering is key!) Check out my day, yourself!
picnic time!
Check back tomorrow for Mani Monday!
ps, don't forget to =)

OOTD:: Transitioning into Spring in DC
I got too excited way too quick. Man, these April showers don't mess around do they!
Today's post is about these showers and how it affects the weather and makes it go from hot sunny days, to cooler days at other times. Also, DC weather is so iffy, just two weeks ago, it was snowing! I know, your jaw is dropping isn't it?! Well last weekend, my sister came up from sweet 'ol Georgia to come visit me for the weekend (isn't she the cutest and sweetest?! :D ) and so I had to take her to an obligatory visit to see our main man Abe and visit the White House.
Spring comes by so quick. One second its freezing, and a few days later it'll be the most perfect weather, then BAM! Hello heat wave. I've learned that the trick is to layer up in this transitional period. You never know when the rain would come and cool the weather down, or when the sun will be kissing your body more than you'll like.
I chose to wear a long sleeve dress, paired with a faux fur vest to keep me warm but not too warm. It was actually the perfect outfit! It became a lot more windy than we anticipated, but only in the mid 50s range, so not enough to whip out the heavy jackets. I paired it with some cute loafers(yes, the ones I actually put in my Christmas Friday Favorites post a few months ago, my brother surprised me with them! Yall, I seriously have the sweeetest family!) but they were great because they were so comfy, looked perfect and perfect for all the walking we had to do.
Take a look for yourself on our day in DC!
Oh you know, had to get a quick kiss with Abe!

(Notice the windy hair! Which turned out super cute for the picture, haha)
Love her!
The best view!
HAD to represent and throw up my letters, Go Kappa Delta! Love Yall, AOT!
When it gets a bit warmer, just take off your vest!
Check back and Have a great rest of the week!

OOTD:: Business Formal Part 1:: Polka Dots
Polka Dots and Blazers
Hey y'all! Hope your week has been great so far! It's almost TGIF! Are you guys as excited as I am??!
Well, earlier this week on my trip back up from Georgia, I stopped in Highpoint, NC to visit my Dad and brothers for the International Home Furnishing Center (IHFC) where my Dad had a show market representing this rugs line at Chandra Rugs. There's a couple of these show markets that go on yearly in Las Vegas, Atlanta, Tupelo, New York, and of course, High Point. I like to go and check out how my Dad and brother designed their showrooms each year and for family support as well. Plus, there's a lot of shopping and fun things going on as well!
There is no specific dress code; people come in T-shirts, sweats, suits, dresses, boots, flats, heels, you name it. I like to dress business formal when I go because I am usually representing my Dad when I'm there, plus you all know I just love dressing up! :)
My outfit of the day consists of playful polka dots turned business. Who says you have to wear a boring suit to work? I found this pink polka dotted blazer at a local thrift shop and paired with a simple white blouse and these cute polka dotted trousers from Forever 21. I love these trousers! They are the perfect mix between formal and casual! Usually you are on your feet all day and walking around a lot, so I opted for some nude flats to finish the ensemble. Up north it is definitely a lot colder than back in Georgia, so the blazer, along with a peacoat, helped a lot, but what I love about layering is that you can easily take off the blazer and wear your blouse and look just as great. Check out some of my looks around my Dad's showroom below!

I absolutely love this chalk wall behind me, with the question, "What is Modern?" where customers are free to come up and write what they feel is modern.

Be sure to check back in a few days for Part 2 of the OOTD! And there won't be a Friday Favorites this week due to insanity of a weekend!
