OOTD:: Travelling

If you guys are like me, you probably spend a lot of time trying to figure out what to wear, whether that's to a lunchdate, school, work, or even the airport.  You just never know who you may run into or what will happen!
Saying that, I think going out in general, you should always look appropriate.  Yes, even on flights where you might just sleep away anyways.
Going to the airport, I always want to look casual chic.  Because yes, you still want to be comfy.  Here are my few tidbits on traveling::
  • Throwing on a cute hate will eliminate having to do your hair.
  • Either layer up and bring  scarf or cardigan, because no matter how hot it may be outside, it is usually colder in the airport and on the plane.
  • If you are carrying on, make sure it's a rolling luggage.. your shoulders will thank you!
  • Pack very light if you are carrying on! For me, the only luggage I had was carry on, and being gone for 2 weeks, it sufficed. Pack alot of basics and bring jewelry or something small to change and that will do the trick!  Try to plan your day-to-day outfits before you pack.

Safe travels everyone!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend and stuffed your faces with the calzones recipe(http://poojatiwari143.blogspot.com/2013/05/whats-to-eat.html)!

What's to Eat?? Spinach and Green Pepper Calzones

Spinach and green pepper calzones!

My two favorite calzones are spinach with cheese and also spinach, green peppers, and onions.  My mouth waters at the thought of it!  It is fairly easy to make and only takes about 30 minutes of your time.
What you will need::
a bag pizza dough works fine
marinara sauce
ricotta cheese
mozzarella cheese
flour
spinach
green peppers
onions
garlic
spices to taste

Prepping:::
Spinach::
First start by cooking 1/2 a bag of spinach and waiting for it to wilter some. Add  1/3 of a spoon of diced garlic and mix around until its ready.  You will then have your spinach done.

Sauce:: Take your favorite marinara sauce and add whatever spice you like to it.  This will be the marinara you would put inside and also as a side dipper sauce.
Other prep work:: cut up green peppers and onions and grate your mozzarella cheese.

Next, grab your dough and start playing with it to soften it up so it becomes easier to manage.  Add flour so it helps with keeping the shape and in the overall process.

Shape a small piece of your dough in a circular shape to form the calzone.

 Add your stuffing, which in my case would be marinara sauce, green peppers, onions, spinach, and mozzarella cheese, a little ricotta cheese, and spices to taste. Be sure to put this on one half of the dough.

Fold the dough over, preferably the side that is empty, and take a fork and start gently pressing down on the sides, securing a closure.  I also like to poke a hole or two at the top to let some steam out while its baking.

Put your calzones on a lightly greased sheet and cook at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes, or until nicely brown on the sides and top.

Now you are ready to enjoy some delicious yummy calzones!
Enjoy! Be sure to check back tomorrow for Friday Favorites and my OOTD traveling!

Mani Moday:: Chevron and glitter

Chevron, Pink, and Glitter!
Today, in the spirit of summer coming up and my love of chevron, I decided to paint my nails all summer-like!  I just think pink, gray, and white are a perfect combination of colors!

Start off first by painting one nail a color different than the rest.  This will be the nail with the chevron print.

Now you will start the chevron process.  All you are really doing is lines in a upside down v-shape as shown below.  Don't get discouraged if you mess up at first! Like I've always said, practice makes perfect!

 The finished product will look like the nail below!

 Then go ahead and paint the rest of your nails one color, I decided to also paint one nail in glitter for some summer glitz fun!

Voila! You now are ready to go out in style! Have a great rest of the week and check back later this week for a Travel Outfit of the Day!!

DIY:: Chevron Bulletin Board

It is very hard to find cute, big bulletin boards that are inexpensive as well.  I am a hands-on learner and even though Pinterest and my phone calendar is a good way to write and keep things, sometimes it is just easier having it on a board that you can put things up on, the traditional way.  I made this chevron bulletin board in under $$10!!!  Guys, you can do this too with your own fabric choice!
First start by buying a board, pushpins, and fabric of your choice.  I found this huge board at JoAnns for $3 and sized the fabric to fit the board with an inch extra all around.

Now place your fabric all over and flip it over, like shown below.  Here, all you do now is just use the pushpins and pin down the fabric to the board. That simple!

Now put it up in your room and start putting up whatever you would like!
It just took less than $10 with only 5 minutes to make.  You can use whatever fabric you would like and get as big of a board as you want!  Have fun!  Check back tomorrow for some Friday Favorites.
