A blind beggar sat on the steps of a building with a sign saying " I'm blind, please help me."
Many people walked on with their daily lives and didn't even care to notice, while only a FEW gave him change.
A random lady then walked by and read the sign. She took the sign and wrote something else on the back of it and put her side of the sign down and walked off. After that, 90% of the people who walked by gave him change.
The blind man recognized her when she came back from her shoes that he touched before when she first came. He asked her what she wrote and she told him
she wrote the same thing, but in different words. "It's a beautiful day and I can't see it."
This clip really hit the heart for me. The reason why her sign had such an impact was because it reminded people to be grateful for hat they have and brought out sympathy towards the man who has less. While the first sign just stated that he was blind and needed help, the second sign implied that people were luckier than him because they were able to enjoy something as simple as to enjoy a beautiful day.
We use words everyday to communicate, to express our feeling and our thoughts, but we often forget how powerful they can be. Remember this as your week goes on, change the outlook of your words, your situation, and your life, and see what a CHANGE it can be.
In case you didn't catch it, words can radically effect change. Get it? He was getting change.
Just some food for the brain!
ps, don't forget to =)
