Mani Mondays!

Robin's Egg

Let me just start off by saying yes, my nails are cut SHOOOOORT. :( I just hate when one nail breaks and so you have to cut all your other nails to even it out. Sucky.
But onto the nail choice, robin's egg! I love this deep blue splashed with a hint of gold.  These two colors are just so pretty together!

Have a good start to the week!

Mani Monday!

Tan and Black

I am a big believer in that brown and black do NOT mix, HUGE fashion faux-pas, HOWEVER, saying that, I do think some trends can get away with it. Brown boots are a huge example of breaking the trend. Depending if its more towards a tan/lighter brown, you can still wear it with a black outfit!
Back to mani mondays though.  My nails were inspired by all the boots, and blacks and browns I see.  I decided to also make it a different look by updating the french manicure into a fall manicure!

First start off by painting the tips of your nails black.  This is usually pretty sloppy and just done to make the tip.  Make sure to double coat it for a dark, sleek look.

Now take some nail polish remover and a dip in a q-tip.  Then slowly in windshield-wiper motions, go back and forth.  Don't be sad if it doesn't work how you want the first time. This IS the hardest part and may take a couple tries.  Practice makes perfect!  Notice my index finger is how it will turn out.

 Now you should have all your nails close to perfectly tipped!

Apply the tan nail polish in the center and to the tip line.  and Voila!!! :)

 Remember, when you don't succeed at first, try and try harder!  It is worth practicing because you can do your own french manicures!
Have a great start to the week!

DIY Crafting:: Lilly Frames

Who does't like Lilly Pulitzer and who doesn't like spending less??  Combine those two and we have a winner!  During this event called "Twin Week," we were to craft or buy different items for our twin.  I decided to craft since I think it is so much more meaningful and fun!  The first day was a picture frame and I wanted my frame to stand out then some ribbon or letters, so I decided to replicate the Lilly Pulitzer print! It was SO EASY and yall can do this at home!
What you will need::
You can always choose different colors but I wanted to recreate this print::

Paintbrush ( I used to, a thinner one and a regular sized one)
Light Pink paint
Dark Pink paint
Navy Blue paint
White Paint
Green Paint
and a cloth or something to work on

First, go ahead and paint your whole frame with a blue base and let dry.

 Now add some random pink flowers that sorta look like the print.  I added the word twin to make it more suiting for the event!

You can now add some greenery and light pink  flowery shapes.

Use white paint and a small paint brush to start roughly outlining the shapes.

And Voila!! Add a picture and you are now ready to gift this cute frame or keep it for yourself!  You can know even boldly try out some other prints! Good Luck and have fun this weekend!

OOTD:: Business Casual

Two weeks ago I road tripped up to my dad's show market for furniture and rugs up in Highpoint, North Carolina.  My dad owns his own rug business called Chandra Rugs. The rugs are beautiful, handmade rugs with amazing textures and looks imported from India.  Seasonally, show markets are held to display wholesalers products and I love to help him out and check out other businesses!  People dress anywhere from super casual to business formal.   Usually, I like to wear business with a hint of casual since there is a lot of standing and walking done.  Here's some pictures of my weekend at Chandra's amazing, newly designed and newly branded showroom!
Here's how it looked when customers first entered! Welcome! :)

The first set up as you walk in displaying how a Chandra Rug could be set up and displayed.

Our Thomas Paul Collection.  Love his designs and colors!

The bar/coffee area to entertain our guests/buyers!

Have you tried a Chandra coffee? :)

This was my favorite room!  On the chalkboard wall was the question, "What is Modern?"  Here, guests could write what they thought were modern.

Love the mirrors!

Chandra pins :)

And now onto the outfit of the day::

Lace and prints!

I loved this look because it was fitting to my age compared to all the older businesswomen but yet classy and business enough for the occasion.  It was pretty chilly so I added a simple touch of tights underneath and covered up with this cute black fitted blazer.

I love everything lace and paired it together with this eautral printed top!  Kept it to black and white colors.  Always a perfect go to!

Mani Monday:: Caviar Nails

Side Order of Caviar Please

Who needs the real expensive dish when it looks better on your nails? No, no, I'm not talking about caviar as something you eat, I'm talking about this season's latest style, micro beads on your nails!  When I saw this at Sephora, I just had to get them and try it out for myself.  I love playing with the texture of it and I absolutely love how its a different look that not everyone has.

First and foremost, wipe any polish off your nails, cut, shape, and whatever you need to do to them and then wash your hands.  Now apply one coat of whatever color you want.  I trial and tested and found that using white under the white caviar beads worked out he best since they were the same color and it help make it stand out more.  I then proceeded to paint all my other nails black.

Now you can start your coat and caviar process.  Start off by applying a second coat of color over the nails you want caviar-d, and let the polish get sticky for 10 seconds.  Then, over a sheet of paper, cup, or tray, pour the microbeads over the entire nail making sure to get all your whole nail covered.

Now you can "Im-Press".  In this step, you want to gently press down on the caviar beads to secure the beads even more.  Then apply a thin layer of lop coat over the beads to ensure a longer life.

A small funnel comes with the nailpolish set, so carefully use that to pour the excess beads back into the bottle for a future use!  Voila! You now have a classy, different look right on your nails!

 Happy Monday!
