OOTD:: Splash Of Sunshine

Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love the color yellow! Not only is it associated with for sunshine, warmth, beach, joy, and other words, but it looks amazing on my tan skin! Haha.
Last week I actually went to one of my favorite tex-mex restaurants in Atlanta called Bone Garden.  I mentioned it on my last Friday Favorites post along with the website.  They were doing a special there and this local Atlanta show to be airing this Fall called "Atlanta Eats" were filming top restaurants in the area and my friend and I went.  They actually interviewed us both so watch out for us whenever it airs! :)
I paired this light yellow, white polka dotted with a white skirt.  It isn't too fancy, but a bit more done for a tv show.  I love colors so I paired this yellow and white outfit with forest green wedges.  I absolutely love bows as well and this just so happen to have one.  I think small details like that are what makes items great.  It was a perfect outfit for this bright, sunny day.
Check out the restaurant and try some yellow on your style!

OOTD:: Rainy days

So it is extremely easy to wake up and see that is it raining outside and just throw on a pair of hoodie, baseball hat, and sweats and go on  to your day.  But dare to be different!  Who said you can't look cute when it rains?  I've compiled three different outfits to wear on a dreary, rainy day that isn't too fancy but yet a nice change to the usual dressed down attire.

Above, I decided to casually dress up.  I'm still wearing something close to shorts and a sweater but dressed up just a tad bit.  It is a cleaner look without being done up too much.  The light sweater will still keep me warm yet wearable during this summer heat.

I don't know about ya'll but I absoluuuuutley HATE when the bottom of my pants get wet! It is such a huge pet peeve.  So in order to avoid that, I will wear either rain boots with whatever style or if I don't have any or don't want to wear them, I make sure to wear shorts or a dress so I don't go into school or stores looking like a hot, drippy mess.
I decided to go more bright with this outfit and thrown on a pair on green pants.  What better way to stand out  of the usual attire then to wear bright clothing?  I paired a simple, light blazer, again for if it ends up getting a little chilly.  So a pants/tank top/ blazer variation always is a great choice to go to.

So this outfit is for those of ya'll who do not have rain boots or prefer not to wear them.  I would suggest wearing flats at least so your toes don't end up getting wet and dirty.  This outfit is just a simple dress paired with a rain jacket.  It works perfectly for those days you have to dress up and still have to conquer the rain.

Tips:: Don't do much to your hair on rainy days, obviously it will most likely end up being different by the end of the day then when you started it out.   A simple braid is cute and effective.

Mani Monday:: Cheetahlicious

Cheetahlicious

I am currently LOVING anything sparkly and with prints, so why not a sparkly cheetah print?? Some may look at this look and think, "Wow that must've taken a long time.  I can't do that or have the time for it." But in actuality, it takes about ten minutes and no skill at all! Heres how you can get the cheetah look!
You will need::
base clear coat
gold shimmery nail polish
a white polish
black polish
and a brown/creme-ish color
of course you can change up the colors but that's what I used

Have you noticed?? I cut my nails!  It's always such a weird feeling to go from long to short but I guess it's what you have to do when a nail breaks.  So you want to start off by cutting, filing, and cleaning your nails.  Then apply a base coat to keep the nails strong!

Then apply your base color.  I chose a nice sparkly gold color.

These next two steps are the KEY steps in achieving the cheetah look.  It may look hard but once you read on, you'll find out it's so simple and easy!
All you do is take your darkest color, which I chose black, and simply DOT on.  That's it!  It doesn't have to be perfect as you see; actually, the more imperfect, the small dashes instead of dots here and there, actually helps make it look more real!  Dot on all your nails as much as you like.

Next, you want to repeat the last step but do it with the white polish.  You want to make the black visible so do a smaller dot on top of the black.  It is perfectly ok if you mess up and go outside of the lines as you can see I have.  You can also leave the tiny black spots alone as seen on my pinky and middle finger.  Repeat this step with the caramel/creme/brown coat and THAT IS IT! You and now cheetah-fied!
With just a little positive attitude, you can easily get this look for cheap, done by yourself, and effortlessly!
Now go out and enjoy all the compliments you are about to receive!
Happy Monday!!

Thoughtful Thursday

Change your WORDS and it will change your WORLD

A blind beggar sat on the steps of a building with a sign saying " I'm blind, please help me."
  Many people walked on with their daily lives and didn't even care to notice, while only a FEW gave him change.
A random lady then walked by and read the sign.  She took the sign and wrote something else on the back of it and put her side of the sign down  and walked off.  After that, 90% of the people who walked by gave him change.
The blind man recognized her when she came back from her shoes that he touched before when she first came.  He asked her what she wrote and she told him she wrote the same thing, but in different words.  "It's a beautiful day and I can't see it."
This clip really hit the heart for me.  The reason why her sign had such an impact was because it reminded people to be grateful for hat they have and brought out sympathy towards the man who has less.  While the first sign just stated that he was blind and needed help, the second sign implied that people were luckier than him because they were able to enjoy something as simple as to enjoy a beautiful day.
We use words everyday to communicate, to express our feeling and our thoughts, but we often forget how powerful they can be.  Remember this as your week goes on, change the outlook of your words, your situation, and your life, and see what a CHANGE it can be.
In case you didn't catch it, words can radically effect change.  Get it? He was getting change.
Just some food for the brain!
